Whether you have lived here thirty years or three, chances are we have crossed paths (and if we haven’t, I’m looking forward to meeting you soon)! In my 13 years as a resident of this wonderful community, I’ve worked hard to serve New Providence as often—and in as many ways—as I can. My commitment to service includes my work on the New Providence Diversity Committee, the Economic Development Committee, as an avid AWR PTA volunteer, the founder/moderator of the popular New Providence Community Forum Facebook page and as Chair of the New Providence Democrats. The Facebook Forum, in particular, has been a surprising but meaningful way for me to help serve residents. Not only has it become a valuable source of community information and support for the past eight years, but it fosters an environment that empowers neighbors. I take pride in facilitating the wonderful and challenging discourse in this community. My husband, Himanshu, and I have two active, preteen twin boys and we are thrilled that we have been able to give them the gift of growing up in this vibrant and supportive community.

Originally from New York City, I earned a degree in Business Administration from Baruch College, with additional post-grad certifications. My career, working in corporate management and planning for major retail brands, provided me with a keen insight into budgets, forecasting and managing a team. As a small business owner in Berkeley Heights, I saw firsthand the struggles and triumphs of owning your own business while also gaining insight into how important it is for local businesses to have the support of their local government. And in my current career as a Realtor, I get the opportunity to show off our wonderful community to prospective new residents, while building both a relationship of trust with my clients along with a large, local network of colleagues and friends. It’s my honor to help new residents start a new chapter of their story here in our town. My experience as a resident, a school parent and an active community volunteer has given me a view into the concerns of my clients, and therefore, the community as a whole. Helping to shape New Providence into the best place it can be is truly my passion.

As many of you may know, this is not my first time running for New Providence office—back in 2018 I ran alongside John FX Keane in a quest to bring a different viewpoint to our Borough Council. This turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and it continues to inform my understanding of what it means to serve. Running for office was both humbling and thrilling, and taught me pointed lessons about the importance of representation and of standing up, using my voice, and trying my very best to be the change I hope to see in the world. Even though I didn’t win that race, I have worked hard over the last three years since being elected Chair of the NP Dems to build relationships both within the Borough and with County Officials. All of this experience gives me confidence that I will be able to bring the support and attention we need to help New Providence thrive well into the future.
